Queenstown, NZ

At the south end of New Zealand's south island, this town is set in the heart of the spectacular "Misty Mountains", formally known as The Remarkables. It was the hub for filming many of the scenes in "The Lord of the Rings". We went to "Paradise", where scenes of the "River Anduin" were portrayed. Also, a distinctive hilltop was used for many many scenes where the Misty Mountains rise spectacularly against the backdrop.
